Guide to taking measurements for a baby

With this short guide, we want to help you correctly take a baby's measurements for a set, dress, smocked dress, romper, shawl, or christening gown, with or without a bonnet or hat.

HEAD, NECK, and CHEST CIRCUMFERENCE: Place the tape measure around the baby's head, neck, or torso, leaving enough slack for one finger to fit between the tape measure and the baby.

WAIST CIRCUMFERENCE: Place the tape measure around the body, two fingers above the navel, leaving enough slack for one finger to fit between the tape measure and the child.

TOTAL LENGTH: Measured from the base of the neck to the desired length, always with the baby upright, from the front.

We hope these instructions have been helpful.
